Ville de Fismes
1 rue des Conclusions 51170 Fismes
Fismes has a rich history that is often linked to that of Reims: «We were here on the road of the crowns: kings, before being sacred at the Cathedral of Reims, spent their last night as a prince in Fismes». A time when the city was surrounded by ramparts, traces of which can still be found today. Later, after the First World War and its ravages, the reconstruction brought new buildings: The shape and architecture of the City Hall make it a remarkable monument, atypical in the region; you will discover that it preserves an exceptional collection of porcelain of Fismes, further on, one passes on the American Memorial Bridge, offered by the State of Pennsylvania in honor of its heroes who died at Fismes in 1918, then you will cross this bridge, to visit the Fismes Memorial 18 inaugurated on September 15, 2018 to celebrate 100 years of Franco-American friendships. It’s unique in France». About Gérard Coche
