The village of Ruaux, attached to the town of Plombières, still has many coverings of sandstone lava. These lavas were extracted in quarries, called «washers», which we can still find traces of. A visit accompanied by the association «Le pays du chalot», which maintains the tradition of sandstone roofers, is offered to visitors.
