In the 11th century, the castle chapel is located on the site of the castle which was practically destroyed in 1424, when the Count of Salisbury and his Burgundian allies ravaged Champagne. It was already called Saint-Martin in 1312\. During the lull that followed the Hundred Years' War, the lords erected the ruins of the castle and took the opportunity to enlarge and embellish in the style of the time, the church becoming insufficient for the parish.
In 1467, a chapel of flamboyant Gothic style is erected at the end of the south aisle. It is twice as wide as the primitive part. Three original square pillars are replaced by columns with cylindrical barrels and octagonal bases without capitals or trunks on which the ribs of the double arches and arches of the vault are dampened. These two keystones are decorated with 12 holly leaves.
