Discover the history of the former capital of the Principality of Salm-Salm, an independent state.

Through the princes of Salm, the region is associated with the history of Lorraine, France, and the Holy Roman Empire.
By making Senones the capital of their independent principality landlocked in France, these very enlightened despots have built castles but also made this territory a socio-economic laboratory very innovative but unknown.
The historical and architectural treasures of Senones will be revealed to you during this visit.

The reputation of its scholarly abbots and the wealth of the library of over 15,000 volumes earned it an international reputation. Philosophers like Voltaire, scientists and scientists come to study there and discover this small independent principality wh
