An old heritage of more than 2000 years
A Celtic surrounding wall(speaker):
One of the most old(former) Gallic fortifications among the best keeping(preserving) from the north of Europe, ramparts of more than 7 m of top surrounded with ditches(gaps). This impressive oppidum was at origin (-80 years before JC) in defensive but also commercial, political and religious vocation. The surrounding wall(speaker) is built by the people of Catalaunes, who melt then The old man Chalons (called Vetus Catalaunum). Archaeological polls(soundings) are realised for 2 years and allows to know better his(her,its) history(story).
Attila
At the head of an army, Attila dashes(launches) in spring 451 into a campaign(countryside) against Gaulle. He(It) is kept in failure during the battle of Fields catalauniques with the support of the Roman legions. A legend, not based(established), begins XVIII in. Battle delivered against Huns would have taken place there. His(Its) legendary image: He(It) would have thought «There or my horse passes, the grass does not grow again».
A rich natural heritage to be preserved
A lawn dries: Word "lawn" indicates(appoints) a low vegetation consisted principally of herbaceous plants. The ground is not very thick and very filterable.
