«Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the beast, the pride of the Ardennes in the 19th century, the blast furnace of Vendresse...», thus begins the sound and lights retracing the birth of a cast iron flow in the heart of the blast furnace of Vendresse.
Throughout a 20-minute show, discover the exceptional history of Jean-Nicolas Gendarme, the greatest Ardennes ironworks master and former owner of the Vendresse Estate.

The blast furnace of Vendresse is an industrial plant created between 1822 and 1824 by the from the Ardennes ironmaster Jean-Nicolas gendarme on a site having an activity of iron production since the second half of the XVIth century. It has become a tourist site today passing on(transmitting) effortlessly the memory of this metallurgical activity in the places where it was exercised.
