Discover the gardens of Charleville-Mézières, from those designed by Charles de Gonzague to those designed in the 19th century. They all have a story to tell and a strong personality behind them.

Charleville conceals hidden patches of greenery, which only reveal themselves to those who know how to find them. Each of these gardens is the heir of a particular history, where exotic tree species interact with science and letters. It’s time to rediscover the strong personalities of Louis Pierquin and Jules Cardot, who have left their mark through two of the city’s most beautiful public gardens!
Departure at the Ardennes Museum, Place Ducale.

À propos du lieu

Place Ducale
4 Place Ducale, 08102 Charleville-Mézières
  • Ardennes
  • Grand Est
Places(Squares) are characteristic of the town planning of the beginning of the XVIIth century. The Place(Square) Ducale with its four domes, its high small windows, but also its adjacent streets built with the same decoration(set) of brick, of slate and of stone, was particularly admired, justifying the epithet applied in Charleville for this century of " new and incomparable city ".
