The site, between the Augronne, the canal (long called the Papeterie canal) and the Ruisseau Saint-Antoine or des Scieries, was first occupied by a paper mill founded at the end of the 16th century by François Parisot. In turn, it was a pottery factory, a manufacturer of cutlery and cutlery, and then a manufacturer of restoration equipment for communities. It punctuated the life of the Plombinois for four centuries, before being used as accommodation for municipal workshops.
