Arc-en-Barrois is surrounded by one of the largest forests in France and is located in the heart of the National Forest Park.
Between Champagne and Burgundy, nestled at the bottom of a valley bathed by the Aujon, the small city (under approval) holds a rich heritage past.
Arc-en-Barrois stands out for its state-owned forest, one of the largest in France (approximately 11,000 hectares), considered to be one of the most beautiful large game hunts in France. The city offers an old building in a green natural setting offering many opportunities for hikes and visits.
Several beautiful houses, including the Renaissance House, with superimposed orders, punctuate pleasant streets and alleys. The elegant Castle, whose main work probably dates from the 17th century, dominates an English-style park. It was rebuilt in the years 1830-1840, it was then owned by the Orléans family.
