Old(Former) state-owned court(yard) of the abbey of Andlau in Middle Ages, the domain passes to the XVIth century to the City of Strasbourg, then is the house of the unique(only) Lord of Marlenheim up to Revolution. The City rebuilds "Stadelhof" by 1767 in French classic style. After Revolution, the castle is bought by the Bishop's palace of Strasbourg which instal(settles) a college of higher education of theology there intended(designed) to train(form) the elite of the diocésain clergy; nicknamed " the Small Sorbonne ", her to close her doors further to the death of Mgr Le Pappe de Trévern, happened in these walls in 1842\. In 1916, the sisters of Divine Providence of Ribeauvillé rent the property which becomes a holiday and of convalescent home. They become owners there in 1951 and instal(settle) a retirement home for the nuns of the congregation there.
