This private castle was built in 1671 by Mansard.
You will enter through a monumental wrought iron grille of the Ecole de Nancy, in the eighteenth century. A square tower with 4 turrets with pepper or dome roofs can be observed. It has a very open air and can be considered as one of the most beautiful specimens of the French fortification of the fifteenth century. Once preceded by a drawbridge under which flowed water from the ditches surrounding the feudal castle, now filled and demolished, it was the entrance. It is crossed by a vaulted passage that accesses the courtyard of honour at the bottom of which stands out, over a length of 40 meters and a height of 28, a stone building with 2 floors pierced by 11 openings, 3 of which on a barely projecting forebody, All topped with a Mansard roof with 3 dormers, the arch of which of the center, adjoined by 2 burning vases, alludes to the weapons of the Picot de Dampierre.
