Maison de quartier Orgeval
1 place Simone de Beauvoir, 51100 Reims
The first tenants of the social housing district Orgeval settled in September 1963\. Its construction will continue until the end of 1972.
Soon enough, the Orgeval district will be the subject of successive policies of the city to solve the first signs of urban disqualifications, and bring a better quality of life to its inhabitants. However, when the Urban Renewal programmes were launched in Reims in 2004, Orgeval showed signs of an urban structure that continues to deteriorate.
In the extension of the Tramway, these renovation programs, which will benefit the neighbourhood from 2008, are large-scale operations that will address in depth the issues of housing, public spaces, facilities, social cohesion… and settlement of the neighborhood. The new Maison de Quartier, the creation of the Place Simone de Beauvoir, the renovation of the Place de Fermat, the renovations of new buildings and constructions are some of the illustrations.
