Manor house. Three round turrets and spiral staircase with Gothic door with Déols-Chauvigny arms. After a fire in 1367, Guy III de Chauvigny, descendant of Denise, the last heiress of the Déols house, rebuilt the castle in the style of a seigneurial hotel around 1450. In the 17th century, belongs to the Condé who do not live there (except Claire-Clémence de Maillé-Brézé, princess of Condé, exiled by her husband, the Grand Condé, duke of Châteauroux, who lived there from 1671 to 1694). Place of birth of General Bertrand (1773), faithful servant of Napoleon whom he accompanied to Saint Helena. Property of the General Council of the Indre since 1792. In the old room where the assembly was deliberated until 1971, painted panels by Fernand Maillaud, Raoul Adam or Abel Bertram evoking the rural berry, stained glass windows of Lobin with the coats of arms of the canton chiefs of the department of Indre (decoration finished in 1914). Next door, the neoclassical prefectural residence (1823-1826) is included in the visit of Château Raoul, the public will be able to admire the furniture of the reception rooms as well as the prefect’s office.
