This year, the Republican Guard’s horse post in Chambord celebrates its 50th anniversary! It was in 1972 that a permanent group of gendarmes of the Republican Guard was set up in Chambord to monitor the domain on horseback, ensure public safety but also honorary missions during official events. Every year, the European Heritage Days are an opportunity to unveil the stables and saddlery, which are usually closed to the public. An appointment not to be missed!
