The Art museum and museum of history(story) occupies, in the historic centre of Dreux, a neo-Romance chapel built in 1895 and redeveloped in 1950 to receive amazing artistic and historic collections. The key work of the collection is other than ’"Study of Wisterias" of Claude Monet, an element of world famous cycle of White water lilies. The XIXth century is indeed the period of predilection of this Museum, with centerpieces of Marius Granet, Henry Le Sidaner and of works of James Pradier, Horace Vernet, Henry Gervex or Maurice de Vlaminck, to quote only them. The superb first one lying of the duchess of Alenþon comes supplement this route(course) from now on in Fine Arts. Historic and cultural treasures of the Museum extend in many other times(periods), arts and spheres of influence. Religious arts have a place(square) favoured as witnesses(batons) of existence of collegiate Saint-Etienne on the location of which rises the Royal Chapel, mausoleum of the royal family of Orléans. The Museum of Dreux redraws so the history(story) of this exceptional site and presents abundant artistic wealth of this unique(only) chapel in France. Decorative objects, paintings(paints), art, call back(remind) presence quite close to famous castles as Crécy or Abundant and rich local drouaise history(story) allows to present prehistoric and Merovingian collections: cut tools, utilitarian objects or jewels.
