Created in 1995, the Centre chorégraphique national d'Orléans (CCNO) is under the direction of choreographer Josef Nadj. For six years, the CCNO was one of the living structures of the Carré-Saint Vincent, now the Théâtre d'Orléans. In 2001, the CCNO moved not far from the Théâtre d'Orléans to the former premises of the newspaper la République du Centre, which later gave way to the institute of visual art. The Théâtre d'Orléans (CADO, CDNO, SNO and the CCNO with its own premises) and the ESAD, the Musée des Beaux-Arts and the Conservatoire were all brought together in a creative district. The City of Orléans is initiating work to extend the Centre chorégraphique, which has been equipped since 2010 with new workspaces: a creative studio, a sound and video recording studio, a research studio, storage and construction areas and a costume workshop.
Since January 2017, the CCNO has been led by Maud Le Pladec. It poses the issue of audiences as its central issue. Creation in all its forms, transversally, traverses the project in all its dimensions with all audiences. NACO offers to share, explore with people around, before and after. Workshops Monday after work, Saturday brunch, courses, festival, performances, public openings, conferences, participatory creations, resonate with the creative work of artists in residence at the CCNO or programmed at the Théâtre d'Orléans.
Multiply the practices, the looks, give the impulse in a constant back and forth between seeing and doing it, for the spectator as for the lover of all dances. It’s all about accessibility, or how we can connect, how we can connect. Make the city dance for the visibility of each body in the space of the city.
