In September 2022, Les Tanneries - Centre d'art contemporain temporarily closed their doors to the general public, while the exhibitions were renewed in all their spaces of nearly 2500 m² : Grande Halle, Galerie Haute, Verrière, Petite Galerie.
The new exhibitions will be inaugurated in October; until then, the team offers throughout the weekend of the Heritage Days continuous commented visits going back on the history and architecture of the places, and on the construction and manufacturing logic at work that prolong the industrial history of the site.
How did we go from an old leather factory to a production and dissemination space linked to visual arts? How did the architecture of the places built in 1947 promote this rehabilitation and this reconversion of its activities in the present? From industrial heritage to art-in-the-making, dive into the reverse of the decorations of this emblematic building of the town of Amilly and the bessin of life.
