Sound experience
As part of the United Nations International Year of Glass, the Museum of Glass and its trades offers various exhibitions and activities throughout the territory of the Community of Communes of the 4 Valleys.
You will be able to discover an exhibition presenting the local glass history, an exhibition on the ecological properties of glass, an exhibition of art glassware but also demonstrations of glass blowing, projections of films on glass factories, concerts of unusual musical instruments in glass, among other animations.
This sound installation allows you to discover the dovecote, amazing place of the town of Corbeilles-en-Gâtinais.
Oral testimonies of former glassmakers alternate with musical pieces played with glass musical instruments (glass harmonica and Cristal Baschet) allowing you to appreciate the remarkable architecture of the place.
Photographs of glass musical instruments and glassmakers at work illustrate the sounds heard.
In the next building, you can participate in a giant goose game exploring topical themes such as sustainable development, recycling or waste reduction.
The aim of this exhibition-game is to highlight the importance of glass in everyday life and to show that glass is a material that can respond to the challenges related to sustainable development, notably through sustainable behaviours and consumption patterns, including: reuse and recycling of glass.
