Art Brut, Singular Art - Youen Durand invites Marc Morvan
To celebrate the centenary of the birth of Youen Durand (1922-2005) , the former director of the Lesconil auction, visitors will discover at the Semaphore of Lesconil a selection of his most beautiful paintings composed with thousands of tiny shells in their natural colors: enchanted landscapes of Brittany and scenes of life filled with wonder. The inventor of an art born by the sea, Youen Durand shows a sublime world for audiences of all ages. His unique treasure often makes him compare to the Horse factor.
In front of the Semaphore, as from the nearby ocean, a Tuna monumental sets the scene. This sculpture by the artist Marc Morvan, made with recycled steels from decommissioned fishing boats, marks the pride of the inhabitants of the sea. In the Semaphore, astonishing sculptures by Marc Morvan show the universe of an artist endowed with an energy and a sensitivity that reveal a close relationship with the author of the seashell paintings. On the coastal trail, visitors will encounter a Orca and, at the port of Lesconil, a Yellow submarine the cockpit inhabited by a Bigoudene.
