Manoir du Val aux Houx
Val aux houx, 56120, Guégon
The name Val au Houx is an alteration of Val au Houlle by the name of the Houlle family who held the manor in the 15th century. The manor is located on the side of a rather steep hillside overlooking a valley to the south. The front elevation is to the north and overlooks a vast courtyard closed by outbuildings and walls. The manor house consists of three main houses aligned to the south of the courtyard facing the entrance; two main houses of the 15th century have retained their original volume and the frames are in place. The other main building would be from the end of the 16th century, after the moulding of the bays.
