Workshop Tour - The Minor celebrates its 100th anniversary
Visit the oldest Breton hosiery still in operation
Celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2022, the Le Minor workshop wishes more than ever to highlight its unique history - that of a French workshop that has never relocated any stage of its production - and its know-how that has become rare and precious: circular and straight knitting, manual knitting, remailing, mending, and all stages of making.
Guided tours will be offered throughout the day to discover this heritage... in motion!
A museum for the 100 years of the workshop
On the occasion of its 100th anniversary, Le Minor proposes in addition to workshop visits a scenographic tour, designed and written by Solenn Boennec, passionate about the history of clothing, and director of the Bigouden museum of Pont l'Abbé.
This course traces the history of the hosiery, the great patrons who created and developed Le Minor and its know-how, and the specificity of the knitting trades.
Sustainable heritage at Le Minor
a century... is probably a good sign of sustainability. But even more, it is the renewal of the Le Minor brand that is a symbol of know-how and therefore of sustainable heritage.
At a time when the themes of short circuits and reindustrialization are in the spotlight in France, especially in the textile sector, Le Minor’s heritage offers an original answer to the question of sustainable heritage.
Sustainable fashion at Le Minor consists first of all in making solid clothing in Brittany, which lasts over time. And it is even the mission of the company since its creation in 1922.
