The installation presented in the Powder Magazine is based on the collections of the National Museum of Marine and the history of the citadel of Port-Louis: unobstructed view of the walls, ships of the Compagnie des Indes sailing in the distance, diving at the bottom of the oceans to discover wrecks... each of the original drawings, works by Alain Bourdon, is an invitation to contemplation. They are accompanied by a soundtrack created for the occasion by Matthieu Accoch to make this encounter a little more immersive. Thus, Alain Bourdon invites us to take a breath for a break in the tour of the Citadelle.

The citadel erected by the Spanish who occupied Port-Louis during the wars of religion, was altered and enlarged under Louis XIII from 1616 to 1622\. This imposing building houses several types of collections centered around the local maritime history and the past of the stronghold. It gained its fame in the seventeenth century with the development of the port and stores of L'Orient (Lorient) before being forgotten.
