Screening of the documentary film "39/45, the women of victory"
They are called Margot, Jeanne, Odile, Jeannette or Simone. They all took part in the Allied victory in World War II. But unlike male war heroes, their names do not always appear in history textbooks. This film tells the crossed destinies of these dark fighters: secret agents, resistant, pilots, radio operators or even chemist like the Breton Jeanne Bohec who leaves Brest on June 18, 1940 and who will be found in the maquis of Saint-Marcel 4 years later at the end of an amazing and exciting journey.
Equal to men, they took all the risks, the Nazis making no difference of sex when torturing, deporting or executing. To recount the role of women in World War II is to recount the double combat of these war heroines: a struggle for victory but also to be recognized as soldiers or resistance fighters in their own right.
With the kind permission of Sophie Jaubert and Galaxie Production that we warmly thank.
The screening can be followed by a meeting with the director.
