The theme of this new edition of the European Heritage Days will be "Sustainable Heritage".
Our five sites that open their doors for free on this occasion offer many activities throughout the weekend to allow you to explore sometimes the annual theme, sometimes the plural riches of our sites.
The five sites of Chemins du patrimoine in Finistère: the Abbaye de Daoulas, the Château de Kerjean, the Manoir de Kernault, the Abbaye du Relec and the Domaine de Trévarez – are open for free for these two days.

À propos du lieu

Château de Kerjean
Château de Kerjean, 29440, Saint-Vougay

The construction of the current castle begins probably by 1542 and is finished(ended) probably not at the end of the century. An influence of Philibert de l' Orme is disclosed there. Built on a quadrangular plan, he is endowed with ramparts and with four tours(towers, ballots) of angle which certify his military role, moreover badly known. Works made at the beginning of the 18th century are followed by a progressive degradation and ruins after 1755 (destruction of the northeast detached house(flag)), agravée by revolutionary depredation. Preserved more or less in the course of the 19th century, the castle of Kerjean is acquired by the State and classified as "Historic Monument" in 1911\. He(It) shelters from now on the Breton Museum.
