Located in the heart of the city, the City Hall remains a building to discover or revisit. This emblematic place, built in 1886, strongly inspired by the Parisian model, seat of municipal institutions, was the privileged witness of many events. The visit allows to discover the interior decoration and the furniture of the different rooms that participate with the main facade to the quality of the architecture.

The building is composed of a central body and advanced side pavilions. Built on a granite basement floor, it is built of limestone. The central body is pierced by five semicircular arcades in front of an imposing staircase that gives access to a room of steps lost decorated with columns and a remarkable symmetrical staircase, in yellow marble. On the outside, the latter is highlighted by the large carved pediment framing the clock, surmounted by a campanile. The decoration of the facades, very eclectic, combines at the same time that of the Renaissance: pilasters, columns with Corinthian capitals, form roofs with dormers and high fireplaces and that of classical art: Modillon cornice, frieze of volutes or balustrades in the upper part, reproduced on the balconies of the first floor. Many Parisian and Nantes artists have contributed to its interior decor very neat and perfectly safeguarded as a whole. The building is similar to that of the capital rebuilt at the same time.
