The Vapour is the historic concert hall of the city of Dijon. She(It) opened her(its) doors in 1995 and benefited from an important working programme in 2016-2017, which allowed to transform the equipment completely and to make a modern, open and welcoming place for the musicians and the public. With its 2 rooms of shows (230 and 1 200 places(squares)), his(her,its) 7 studios of repetitions(rehearsals) and of creation, The Vapour is a place entirely devoted to popular musics. She(It) suggests all year of the concerts of recognised, foreign and French artists and newcomers discovering, in various musical genres: jazz, soul, reggae, rock, rap, electro, punk, pop, folk, metal, song... Structure also proposes a programme planning(programming) young audience regular, a highlight with festival GÉNÉRIQ (every year in February) and of many collaborations with other Dijon cultural actors. Advice(Councils), trainings(formations), personalised support, repetitions(rehearsals), artists' residences also give rhythm to the place, which gives itself for objective to accompany musical practice on the scale of the department. The Vapour wishes to share current musics with the largest number and proposes diverse actions(shares) towards the public: musical awakening and arts education, approach of music in fault in particular of workshops(studios), a choir, conferences, actions(shares) under house arrest, visits of the place, actions(shares) in favour of accessibility etc
