Guided tour of the apothecary and historic premises Saint Sauveur Hospital
Separate from the hospital buildings, the apothecary, whose construction dates back to that of the hospital in 1661, is easily accessible.
Very beautiful, it has the advantage of remaining in its original state. The woodwork of the 17th century houses more than 220 pots of earthenware, chevrettes, cannons pots, a remarkable series of ten piluliers and especially two small chevrettes of the same size, almost the only ones in Burgundy. You can also see a collection of pewter tableware, the letter patent of Louis XIV , a magnificent Virgin with the child Gothic Burgundy style of the seventeenth and many other curiosities.
You will visit the Garden of Singles for the pleasure of the senses. Where more than 70 medicinal and tinctorial plants develop on the terraces, places where the nuns devoted themselves to the task of growing plants for the care of the sick.
Also worth seeing, the Coeurderoy Gardens of Italian inspiration of the seventeenth classified in the MH, close to there.
You will then discover 26 boards dedicated to Water in Saint John Land. A presentation in images, photos and texts, of the rich hydrographic network ... built structures, reserves visible or not, but which for the most part belong to the past. Springs, wells, wash-houses, pools, fords, fountains, rus, rivers basins and reservoirs fed the communes that belonged to the mense abbey of the abbey of Saint Jean de Réôme. These places are no longer used for use and consumption. Climate change, pollution, over-exploitation, abandonment of basic maintenance. This exhibit points to the places we need to protect.
