The municipality acquired this mansion in 1785 from the Noblat family and Kléber (future general) was charged with studying its transformation into a town hall. The exterior façade and the Kléber Hall still retain their original appearance. The Hall of Honour was built in 1810. Today, there are five paintings that trace the major milestones in the history of Belfort.
