«Painting as we breathe» Christophe Roussel was born in 1964. Dreaming of other horizons, he set off on an adventure. Asia, the Pacific: a magical universe at the height of his dreams... In October 1989, he made his first exhibition in Noumea, and it quickly became not a passion but a need. He set to work frantically while listening to opera tunes. “If there is no light in itself, there will be no light on the canvas, or it will be only technical and therefore artificial.”
«To paint is first to be free» Love is trust and desire, it is he who gives it the strength to create... So much wealth remains hidden for fear of judgment. His painting is part of life. It is above all movement, because life itself is movement. Everyone will see in it a small reflection of its history. Some will no doubt seek to make comparisons, to find here and there a school or a style, to classify his works in genres. They represent him and describe his inner world with the greatest precision. Each color has its temperament, each brush stroke is a musical note. The harmony of the image calls that of the feelings, even more changeable and mysterious. Hatred and jealousy are not part of Christophe’s colours. His painting is, in a way, a lesson of purity that he constantly gives to himself with the help of his angels...
