To discover civil and domestic objects of the rural world before the birth of the electricity fairy, a collection of bigornes of jewellers/lapidary, traditional objects around hunting, fishing, trapping and many civil and domestic objects (carding, weaving)... Between the ground floor and the first floor, one goes from the hairdresser to the slaughterhouse, from the forge to the factory of cartridges, from the carpentry to the slate, from the school to the textile. Located in the heart of Larochemillay, the Tools and Traditions Museum displays over 3,000 tools and household items on two floors, telling the stories of artisans, the rural world and the villagers of the past centuries.
This collection, started by Christian Godon, while he was still a child, has been enriched through encounters, favourites, but also spontaneous gifts, as for the 1953 electrocardiogram, made in Cambridge (USA), recently offered by Jean-PierreClaude Berre, former cardiologist in Dijon.
