A must-see in our region, the Château de Val is one of the best preserved and most remarkable historical monuments in the Haute-Auvergne region. Point limousine in Auvergne land, it belongs to the city of Bort while being located in the Cantal, in the commune of Lanobre. It enjoys an ideal environment, combining tranquility and dynamism thanks to the water retention that surrounds it. Built on a rock of more than 30 meters, it has seen its environment modified following the launching of the valley that it overlooked. Barely saved from drowning, its silhouette is now reflected in the waters of the Bort dam, giving it an exceptional setting. It is now nestled on a small peninsula on the edge of the lake.
