It has been a year since the Craponne Sur Arzon media library took up residence in the Calemard de Montjoly hotel. On the occasion of a commented visit, discover a little history of unknown building, and the stages of this important renovation for the village center of Craponne sur Arzon.

The building, built on older bases, was built in the 17th century. Hotel square plan, divided inside into four rooms with a staircase located along the north wall, adjoining the nearby house with which it communicates through two openings. The stairwell is lined with wood panelling with rectangular panels. A cupboard is fitted out in woodwork under the first section. The railing consists of a 17th century turned wooden balustrade. On the ground floor, the kitchen retains a fireplace surmounted by a mantle decorated with 17th century woodwork. The large living room is decorated with 18th century woodwork with moulded decoration. On the first floor, an alcove room with a Louis XVI decor. Built for a noble family, this hotel adopts an architectural and decorative fashion characteristic of the classical era in this region of Velay. The ongoing rehabilitation of this building will allow the installation of the Media Library and the creation of two housing units.
