A guided tour will allow you to discover the history of the district and the church, from its construction in 1963 to the present day, to admire the interior architecture and to evoke Christian symbols and rites from the furniture.
Outside the hours of guided tours, the church will be open in free access with the possibility of requesting a personalized visit from the guide present on site.

The church of Saint-Jean de Grenoble was built from 1963 to 1965 by the architect Maurice Blanc, then its roof was rebuilt in 1979\. Located on Joseph Vallier Boulevard, the building has been labelled «Heritage of the 20th century» in Grenoble since 2003\. It is circular in shape with an interior wooden frame and is described as the most striking new church in Grenoble. The roof is surmounted by an important lantern with 9 bays with a cross above, culminating at 27 meters in height. The interior houses a baptismal vat in carved stone of ancient origin, a monumental organ and a beautiful icon with bright colors of Christ on the cross, a copy of a work of the thirteenth century, made in 1988 by a parishioner. The church is 37m in diameter and can accommodate up to 1300 people. The dome bearing the altar in the shape of an inverted cone marks the presence, on the lower level, of a chapel built of raw concrete.
