Visit of the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption of Lanslebourg
Although built between 1820 and 1830, the church remains faithful to the contrasts of the baroque spirit: under its austere air, it hides a richly decorated interior.

The old church, located on the other side of the street, becoming obsolete and too small, the inhabitants decide to build a new, larger one: it has three naves, the middle one being topped with a majestic dome.
But don’t worry: the past is not as easy to clean up! The old church has been preserved. It will be converted into a school, court, then cultural space, still open to visitors today. Its furniture has also fortunately been kept. Transported to the new place of worship, the four baroque altarpieces in particular, made of polychrome wood and gilded with leaf, sculpted in the Cembro pine, resinous very present in the valley, await you…
