Housed in a high historical site (former chapel of the Antonins built in 1503 and the Hotel-Dieu built in the eighteenth century); the museum route is organized around two major themes: textiles and ennoblissement, who forged the industrial identity of the region and the fine arts around the painters Alfred Bellet of the contemporary Poisat of the impressionists and Victor Charreton, post-impressionist landscaper and founder of the museum. Museum of society, the Museum of Bourgoin-Jallieu is a center of resources for the actors of the heritage of Nord-Isère by its temporary exhibitions, the cultural actions that it leads on the territory, its documentation center and a library of local history.
