Inaugurated in 2010, the Great Mosque of Clermont Auvergne stands out in the Bien-assis district for its eastern façade, surmounted by two towers that, at the top, support a dome covered by a large glass roof. Inside, the white walls accentuate the luminosity of the place; beautiful contemporary calligraphy adorns the interior architecture.

The religious activity is sheltered by a main volume, designed on two levels (ground floor and mezzanine), taking over the classical organization of a mosque. With a capacity of about 1500 people, this volume is largely illuminated by a dome with a metal frame and entirely glazed. The initiators of the project wanted to bring an optimal lighting, for reasons both functional and comfort, as well as for those more symbolic related to the light and the permanent vision of the sky. Inaugurated in 2010, after 6 years of work, it is composed of patios, ablution rooms and a prayer room, all on a plot of 2700m² in the heart of the city. During the visit, a friendship tea will be offered to all visitors.
