The Hector-Berlioz museum is the native house of the musician Hector Berlioz (1803-1869) in Côte-Saint-André in Dauphiné. Classified as "Historic Monument" in 1942, it is a museum devoted to one of the biggest(greatest) representatives of the European Romanticism today. Entirely rehabilitated in 2003 on the occasion of the bicentenary of the birth of the musician, this certified departmental museum "Museum of France" a member also of the national Federation of houses of writers and of literary heritages. Then in May, 2011, the museum is labelled "Houses of the Famous" by the Ministry of Culture and Communication. The museum presents an important collection evoking life and work of the musician: the family universe, its relations in the world of music, its journeys and concerts across Europe. Period furniture, original partitions(scores), correspondence, paintings(boards) and engravings contribute to restore the soul of Hector Berlioz, in its native house, kept(preserved) in its decoration(set) of origin.
