Discover the Nouvelles Galeries d'Annecy:
At the end of the 1960s, Antoine Dory, architect in charge of the Nouvelles Galeries d'Annecy, made a bold gamble: that of a business that met the needs and challenges of its time, while drawing inspiration from the architectural principles that made the success of the Grand Magasin. Inaugurated in 1969, the Nouvelles Galeries took the name Galeries Lafayette 30 years later.
In 2022, the expansion project imagined by Manuel Gautrand came out of the ground. It retains the 60’s car park in which the satellites with the vegetated roofs intertwine, thus increasing the permeability of the site. Greenery, arborization, recovery of rainwater, natural light favored by the glazed facades, the architecture sublimates the heritage of yesterday and prepares the future for a more sustainable future.
Strongly anchored in the spirit of the Annecians, the jewel of the city’s architectural heritage, labeled Heritage of the 20th century, come and discover the subtleties of this emblematic building but also the result of two years of work that gave birth to the commercial complex "New Galleries", thus christened as a nod to more than 50 years of history.
