Violette Pouillard is a CNRS research fellow at the LARHRA-Laboratoire de recherche historique Rhône-Alpes (UMR 5190) and a visiting professor at the University of Ghent. She conducts research on (post)colonial wildlife management and conservation policies in Congo/DRC and Uganda. She previously worked on the history of zoos and wildlife conservation (History of zoos by animals. Imperialism, control, conservation, Champ Vallon, 2019).
