Lorraine has long been a land of particularly active industry. The landscape and architecture are still marked. However, more discreet witnesses, more confidential but no less prestigious exist, it is the glass windows that, in their own way, evoke this industrial universe that has enamelled our territory.

The museum, which bears the name of the mayor of the city of Saint-Dié from 1965 till 1977 is labelled museum of France. It is built by including the colonnade dating the old(former) episcopal palace of 1782 as well as the staircase belonging to the vestiges of the first walls. The Pierre Noël museum is a realisation of the architect Aldo Travaglini, indicated(appointed) in load(responsibility) of project by the city in 1967\. Works begin in 1973 and end in March, 1977\. Walls are adorned with panels(signs) in forgery-relief of François Malaprade. The local museum presents collections around life in the High - Vosges, of history(story) and arts, notable faces(figures) of the city... Collections lead the visitor of the life of the Celtic to prestigious works of modern and contemporary art (Bazaine, Fernand Léger, Zao Wou-ki...) via(including) the life of the father of the republican school, native of the city, Jules Ferry and the military collection the works of the miniaturist-Jean Jacques Augustin.
