The colossal construction of the Garonne Lateral Canal, built between 1838 and 1856, created numerous works of art that punctuated its course: locks, bridges, canal bridges… as well as a variety of furnishings: distance markers, levelling marks, flood scales, all of which make it possible to understand the scope of the project and retrace its history.
We will sail from Port d'Agen to Lock No. 34, crossing the iconic Agen Canal Bridge. The route commented by Françoise Zannese, researcher at the Heritage and Inventory Service and Alain Astruc of the Waterways of France, will allow to see furniture and various works of art.
