The strong House of Dommartin is one of last ones stayed in the public domain in Lorraine. Built on a headland, close to the church, she(it) dominates the village. She(It) is quoted as castle of Dommartin-sous-Amance in 1633\. Defensive elements are kept(preserved): murderesses, swivel pins intended(designed) for huchettes; trilobées windows are visible, characteristics of the time(period) of construction. The building, over time lost its defensive function(office) for that of residence then of agricultural farm building. The inside was rehabilitated by volunteers, the Municipality(Commune) and the Rural Home(Foyer). [Bibliography: TRONQUART, Martine.
