The church was built in the middle of the 13th century on the initiative of the Dominicans who condemned certain inhabitants, suspected of heresy, to pay(pour) fines to commute their punishment(effort).
This building, representative of Gothic languedocien, exceptional style by its dimensions(size) and its morphology, receives(holds) a treasure of silver and a group sculpted of the 15th and 16th centuries.
