The stand will present food available and prepared by people living in the 11th century. Did they eat like us? Visitors will learn about dishes and utensils used in the Middle Ages on the basis of carefully made replicas, presented on that day at huts standing in the northern part of Ostrów Lednicki. Techniques for preparing food will be presented, including cooking on fire, baking in an clay pot, drying and smoking. Eager to learn during the conversation, they will learn what everyday culinary practices and ways of storing food were practiced centuries ago.

The stand will exhibit weaving products and replicas of historical tools enabling the demonstration of manufacturing processes. Finished products and presented materials will illustrate the effects of the craftsman’s work. Visitors will get acquainted with the technique of springing used for the production of elastic fabrics used, for example, for the production of caps, hair nets, elastic stockings and bags.

Among the numerous items, replicas of artifacts found in the Dziekanowice area will be exhibited, depicting the everyday equipment of the inhabitants of early medieval castles.
