Unique industrial vestige of the limestone extraction in Ile-de-France in the 19th century, it allowed to go up from the underground quarry located 35 m deep, stone blocks of 4 to 8 tons. It is formed by two large stone piles on which rests a drum intended for the winding of the cable. The drum is operated by gears connected to a ride on which a horse moves to raise the blocks. It ceased its activity at the beginning of the 20th century and was restored by the PICAR association, a member of the REMPART Union.
