In a few centuries, Croix passes from the stage of some agricultural land to that of a village organized around a church and ordained by a lord in the 11th century.
Sparsely populated, inward-looking, with a mainly agricultural population, the city expanded in the 19th century during the Industrial Revolution.

Peu peuplée, repliée sur elle-même, avec une population principalement agricole, la ville va connaître une extension au XIXe siècle durant la révolution industrielle.

In een paar eeuwen passeert Croix van het podium van een boerenland naar dat van een dorp dat rond een kerk is georganiseerd en in de 11e eeuw door een heer werd besteld.
Dunbevolkt, teruggevouwen op zichzelf, met een voornamelijk agrarische bevolking, zal de stad een uitbreiding kennen in de negentiende eeuw tijdens de industriële revolutie.
