Amaté – Intercultural Encounters #2, Journey into Cuban Culture will take place on September 21, 2025, starting at 5 p.m. at Athénée 4. Amaté is organized by the Amalthea association.
Amaté is a series of intercultural encounters organized by the Amalthea association. Through music, images, and words, they explore what connects us without confusing us. At the heart of the project, the piano becomes a conduit: a multifaceted instrument, it weaves links between traditions, imaginations, and languages. Alongside exceptional guest artists, audiences will discover the many ways in which each culture makes its instruments resonate, as well as the aesthetic and social contexts in which these musics come to life—whether played, sung, or danced. Each encounter combines concerts, screenings, readings, exhibitions, and discussions... An invitation to transcend differences, to let oneself be moved, to allow a space for lively interaction to emerge. And to prolong the exchange, a shared meal will be offered on site—like a conversation that also involves the senses.
