The Quatuor Ardeo – “I burn” in Latin – has, since 2001, brought together four musicians driven by the same intensity and a shared joy in collective performance that shines through every note. Joined by Pascal Moraguès, principal clarinet of the Orchestre de Paris, this finely balanced ensemble opens up to new colours and different tones. From four to five voices, the programme unfolds with the Nocturne by Borodin, Mendelssohn’s String Quartet No. 4, and culminates in Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet, a pinnacle of chamber music, where luminous dialogue meets disarming simplicity.
