Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness, the Soweto-born septet better known as BCUC, channel a heady fusion of indigenous funk, politically charged hip-hop and punk rock energy into a trance that is as hedonistic as it is defiant. Formed out of jam sessions in a shipping container, the group have since stormed major international stages, earning the WOMEX Artist Award in 2023.
