After numerous musical collaborations across a wide range of genres (Stephan Eicher, Sophie Hunger, The Two, Sarclo...), Simon Gerber is returning to his roots: his own songs, soul, and the blues.
Together with his longtime musical collaborator, gospel singer and musician Sophie Noir (The Moonraisers, Glo’Gospel, Jérémie Kisling, etc.), they formed a unique trio during a residency at the Cully Jazz Festival in 2017. From the very beginning, the group has been rounded out by their friend, drummer and sound engineer Claude Kamber, who regularly hands over his spot at concerts to drummer Alberto Malo (Jacques Higelin, Tété, Sophie Hunger, Erik Truffaz, etc.).
It’s a trio featuring two lead voices, in which the instruments and melodies interplay and echo one another—and these two voices blend in a rare alchemy, as Sophie and Simon have been performing together on stage and in various projects for nearly 30 years…
Their music is by turns minimalist, poignant, intense, and electric. They draw from a repertoire of original songs in French and English, as well as lesser-known duets from the American soul and rhythm and blues canon.
In 2018, the trio released their first EP (5 tracks), "Move On." For this EP, the three musicians from the Jura region did everything themselves—it was truly a DIY project. In 2020, after playing dozens more shows across the country, they released their first album, titled “Bikini Test Sessions.” These 12 songs were recorded live from start to finish, without any additions or artificial effects, in front of a small audience of friends at the legendary club in La Chaux-de-Fonds.
In May 2025, they released their third album, "Partout Partout." This time, they teamed up with a couple of guest musicians to produce an album that reflects their style but also ventures into less familiar territory. They still handle everything themselves—from writing and composition to production and the final product. It’s in French and English—it’s soul, blues, chanson, pop, folk, rock, and jazz… and it all blends together naturally, just like their two voices.
